Hello, I'm Sibel Kaçar

I am a researcher and practitioner working in educational technology and learning experience design.

My work focuses on bridging technology and pedagogy; combining design and technology to make learning more effective, accessible, and meaningful.

I specifically work on educational games, learning analytics, and explainable AI (XAI). I investigate how new technologies like VR and AR can be used in education and seek to understand whether these technologies truly add value to learning processes.

Areas of Interest

Immersive & XR Learning Systems
Adaptive Instructional Design
Disaster Preparedness Simulation
Bayesian Knowledge Tracing (BKT)
Stealth Assessment & Learning Analytics
Cognitive & Affective Modeling
Human-AI Interaction in Education

Current Focus

I am currently developing immersive simulation prototypes that combine:

  • Real-time behavioral data tracking
  • Adaptive scenario complexity modeling
  • Contextual transfer (home-to-school learning transfer in disaster training)
  • AI-supported Socratic scaffolding

"The goal is to design intelligent learning environments that dynamically adjust instructional depth based on student state, hesitation patterns, and decision paths."

Research Philosophy

I believe immersive systems should not just simulate reality, but also model cognition within reality. My work aims to transform XR from a visualization tool into a structured pedagogical instrument capable of measurable knowledge tracing and explainable adaptation.
